IIS 8.5 Window Server 2012 R2 – How to install & remove

Are we done with IIS when it comes to Oracle EPM? Not just yet.
The following products require IIS & ASP.NET support enabled before installation of the EPM System product:

Performance Management Architect Service (Dimension Server)
Strategic Finance
Data Relationship Management

To assist with this infrasolved has provided a guide below, enjoy.

IIS Install Steps
Launch the Server Manager to add a role

Select Application and Web Server IIS, next

Next

Select COM+ Network Access & Web Server IIS Support, next

Select IIS 6 Management Compatibility, next

Click Install

Installation Succeeded

IIS Uninstall Steps

Launch the Server Manager to remove a role
Once launched click on Manage and then Remove Roles and Features

Uncheck Application Server and Web Server (IIS) click next

Expand NET Framework 4.5 Features and uncheck “ASP .NET 4.5” & “WCF Services”, select next
** IMPORTANT ** DO NOT UNCHECK “.NET Framework 4.5” by doing so you will be removing the Windows GUI/shell which then has to be restored via command prompt (See below to Recover Server GUI for fix)

Reboot to Complete Uninstall of IIS

Recover Server GUI

Chances are if you’re reading this portion of the post you removed .NET Framework 4.5 and now you’re left with a command prompt when booting.

Remain calm we can resolve this by completing the below step.
Enter the following in a command prompt window and press enter:

dism /online /enable-feature /all /featurename:Server-Gui-Mgmt /featurename:Server-Gui-Shell /featurename:ServerCore-FullServer

Y to reboot

Once Reboot is completed GUI will be restored.
